Amphibiox: the line of waterproof, breathable shoes
Geox revolutionises the concept of waterproof footwear with the invention of Geox AMPHIBIOX, a new line of waterproof, breathable shoes. Thanks to a patented system applied to the entire shoe, an ideal microclimate for feet is maintained even in adverse weather conditions.
THE PROBLEM
With traditional waterproof footwear, the shoe upper features an inner lining that is covered with a waterproof membrane. This lining surrounds the foot like a “sock”, leaving an empty space between it and the upper. Water absorbed by the top of the shoe reaches this space and inevitably stagnates there. As a result, the shoe becomes heavy, dries with difficulty and leaves feet feeling cold.
THE SOLUTION
Geox has patented an innovative technological solution, which consists of applying a special waterproof, breathable membrane directly to the upper. Thus the top of the shoe is waterproof and breathable, and water does not stagnate within it.
This same membrane is also applied to the sole, as is true with all of Geox’s traditional footwear.
